I went and tallied up every dot I used in my first 20 uploads. Remember this is not ALL my uploads, I have yet to calculate those.
The results are: Powder=1978 Water=8532 Fire=1192 Seed=1365 Gunpowder=2912 Fan=189 Ice=1932 Superball=456 Clone=5501 Fireworks=1988 Oil=944 C-4=17508 Stone=2833 Magma=1072 Virus=1286 Nitro=5553 Ant=625 Torch=15371 Gas=951 Soapy=4909 Thunder=1321 Metal=79822 Bomb=1621 Laser=1557 Acid=1620 Vine=1396 Salt=5810 Glass=43993 Bird=317 Mercury=1812 Spark=2220 Fuse=22538 Cloud=5189 Pump=10496 Wood=3712 Saltwater=2188 Snow=87 Steam=2739
If you want, you can tally up yours too. It's fun to see what elements you really use most. I was shocked to see that metal appeared in every single upload I went through. I was also shocked to discover I had actually used snow too, if only for show. I was also shocked that I used more wood than steam. I think it was mostly intertwine though. c:
I plan to tally up the rest, take it as parts out of 39000, and upload it. (the other 1000 is for a text explanation)

I can't imagine what metal would be for people like Cod and M4...

I might try adding those up sometime myself.

What do you do in your spare time?!
This made me look at my uploads and realize how little liquids I use...

I think pump got its entire count from Intertwine

I use SO much torch and laser it's not even funny.
Metal and glass are the most used elements of good PG uploaders overall.

Intertwine makes only 59% of pump's dot count. Still a hefty amount though. ikr I guess I should try using more mercury. Surprising that the elements we think are commonly used really aren't commonly used. Like Mercury. Useful stuff, but not very much actually used. I think I'll tally up Cod's use of metal. That'll be fun.

The reason the dots you expect for mercury don't show up don't is because you really only need 1-5 dots for each logical processor. Obviously most tech uploads have more than one logical processor, because tons of them are combined to make one large processor. But my point still stands. You'll end up using a lot more fuse than mercury because it takes multiple dots of fuse to hold up and release just one dot of mercury.

Mercury's used quite a lot, just in small amounts as Mdog said. It's useful properties such as conducting, being heavy, and not destroying torch can be incorporated into tons of things.
Here's a nearly useless element: Bird.

Nope Cloud Computing You can make a calculator with bird Derp

It's still pretty useless.
How many times have you seen someone use bird as the basis for an actually GOOD upload?

It's because no one on this frontier uploads. Elmach mainly, but also Elcor and MF. It's an interesting branch but hardly anyone goes there. Just because it hasn't been made known to the public doesn't mean it's good. Herpderp Maybe I should make a bird upload

I'll count all of the elements I've used in all of my GOOD uploads (not the second page, because those suck) after my next upload, which will be some kind of really cool fighter arena with a complicated tech system incorporated somewhere in there.
