Here is a Firefox Extension for StickRanger to ease the saving and loading of different games and provide extra functionality: Features:- Easy save and loading, no need to copy and paste long text
- Automatic naming of the saves (configurable)
- the saves are stored on my server as a backup, so even if your computer looses the saves, I still have them (configurable)
- manual backup of the stored saves, if you don't trust my server
- back to the menu button
- quick links to the forum, wiki and the two things in my signature (will be configurable in the future)
- the wiki link automatically jumps to the page of the stage you are
- show your personal User signature (see configuration), thats what identifies you to the game (If you want to use my backup service, you need to provide either an old save or this signature, so I know who you are)
- function to delete your save cookie (if you have need for it)
- update notification
- If you want to transfer your saves, paste one in the field under "configure" and hit enter or click on save.
- publish your savegame to show it to others
Dependencies: If youre updating from an earlier version, you only need install the last link again. For security measures, before updating please go to configuration, hit the "manual backup" button and copy that text from the box. If you think there is something missing, or something annoys you or something could be done better, just ask here.

The new version is posted, here is the Changelog: - Compatible with StickRanger ver7.2
- Corrected the Link to the forum
- Added Feature: Publish your Save via the SR Save previewer
- Probably small fixes I forgot
This new version is a bit rushed out, because ha55ii changed the interface of the Save/Load system with v7.2. Still I think it should be fully working and have no bugs, only the referenced savegame preview feature is still beta quality.

Care to elaborate on that? You updated to 0.7. Does it show up like 0.7 (Publish button, and the version 0.7 reading below it)? They still show up, but don't load? Is there an error message? Can you create new saves?

0.7, there's an error mesage, new saves work but not the old ones.

Well... what does the error message say? If you send me the manual backup, I could look into it. *edit* perhaps you are logged out? Or logged into another account?

Oooh. That would be it. I changed to "Qwerty's Servant" after Listo gained such a negative connotation. I can just log back into the other account while I play SR.
Gracias.

You know I could transfer those saves for you... Just use the manual backup, send me the content and I'll send em back to you.

Good idea. However, for those who don't bother logging into their dan-ball accounts, could you make a simple login system on your site, in which users can alternatively use? If you cannot be bothered, I'll send you a stripped down version of the login system of megaloler.com.

Uhm... I didn't fully understand you. You don't want to log into dan-ball, but you want to log into my website? Should the extension then log you into db or what is it you want to achieve? Or do you want so you can store your password in the extension and it auto logs you in each time you get logged out?

It said: This extension can access your website info.

This is a greasemonkey extension. So it can access all the infos that you post to the websites this extension is registered to. In this case, it is only the Stickranger Website. Theoretically I could copy your username and password (If you login from the SR website) I'm not doing it though. If you don't trust me, you can read the sourcecode, because that's how GM extensions are distributed. If you use the Auto-Naming system, every save you save posted to a website of mine, so I can analyze it and send you the proper name. A standard feature is also that I back up all your saves, so if you loose them, I still can restore them for you. If you don't want that, you can disable that option in the configuration. If you don't trust me your saves, don't use this extension, unless you reviewed the code yourself and you know what I'm doing.
If you think I'm not being honest with what information I collect from you, please tell me what you think and I will edit a big fat warning in the opening post.

Is it compatible with the latest Beta version? Or will you wait until Firefox 4 comes out?

it doesn't seem to be working...

Yeah it seems so. At least the automatical naming system doesn't seem to work, because my hoster (Awardspace) had some serious problems the last few days. I'm considering of changing the host, but I don't know any other good hoster... If you go the the configuration and disable "automatic naming" and "save to server" you can still use it, but you have to always give it a name by hand...

My webspace provider had some severe problems last week. Somehow my account got deleted in that process. Because I'm to lazy to back everything up properly, I can't simply restore the website. I uploaded the extension again. I tried to recover the server-side scripts too. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. But I'm using an experimental version of the extension, so it might be because of that. Can anyone who already was using the extension try to save something again (with "save to server" and "automatic naming" enabled) and tell me if it works?

The Truth: Disabled's webspace provider is secretly in Egypt.

Is that also why the forum backup is down?

Sure, thats the same reason. Or to be precise: I'm doing a DNS update right now, thats why everything is down, so ignore my last request for a day and please give feedback on thursday.
