Can someone please tell me what happened? Listo deleted threads and threatened to delete the forum? Why? I especially want a statement from Qwerty if he still trusts Listo and believes him coding PG and the old forum being official and a statement from everyone else what happened and why listo did what he did.

For me, no, not really. For the others, yes, he did do that, but why knows why?

Some people weren't made to be leader treat forums like their play toys. So, Lag got in charge, for reasons unknown, and we moved to the new forums, and helped with backing up topics. I was trying to get a staff IRC going with lag, but called it off when I saw the old members rushing back.
This is for the best, but I'm still paranoid of the old forum rising. Don't worry, it'll probably never happen. That is what I witnessed myself, others might have other inputs on the whole thing.

Vertigo, Veers is as determined as anyone not to go corrupt. This forum will stay good for a looooong time.

And then Lag got hacked? What would be the point in doing that? And anyway, surely the coding has anti-hack capabilities?

The coding? I wouldn't at all be surprised if he was brute forced. His passwords never have been secure. Anyway, the replacement deleted the forums in a fit of rage (either that or he was sick and tired of us).

Brute force only ever works if he has a very easy password like 1234. It wouldn't surprise me though, if proboards wouldn't try to stop brute force attacks. Given how shitty the forums are, I doubt they care about security that much.

Oh, brute force works for more than that. At one point his password was a single, all lowercase, dictionary work, easily found in any half-decent brute force dictionary. Then it was a common name. With a single number after it.
Brute forcers work on anything in their dictionaries, and that would probably be there.

Brute force is trying every combination there is. Dictionary attacks are dictionary attacks. But youre right, they are quite similar. Still I wonder why proboards doesn't stop attackers from brute-forcing their forums...

Actually, Listo did try brute-forcing us once, as a test of Pickle's security system. It actually worked quite well.
Memzak, not all gone. Disabled made a backup. I was SO relieved when I saw that.
We have Listo to blame for the deletion...

Typical, I don't honestly see why we keep all the powers in one individual. It's Morally incorrect.

Why can't it be like when we had teh ghost user?
Then veer's has his own account and the site owner account is only used for checking the log?
(you all share teh password of course)

Then veer's has his own account and the site owner account is only used for checking the log? Imo a good idea. Its like with operating systems: Use an admin account for administration only!

Yep, that's the system the had before. With listo. Until he deleted his account and took sole control of the admin account. Hmm, maybe that is where things went wrong... Power Temptation...

When we had "Ghost", it was just Listo pretending to be someone else.
While we could, Veers has already settled in his account, and I'm sure he isn't tempted by power.
