Herro! I figured I'd remake the thread that got ShiningSilver and I working together for mutual postcounts. Yes, I know the original was talking about a PG upload, but it turned into a debate anyway.
So... opinions?

global warming is bad...we should stop it but in a gradual way, not a sudden way.

Pacific NW hasn't been getting very much of it really, (that is, abnormal heat) well over half the population here thinks it's a government ploy to get more taxes. We're actually getting 4x more snow and freezing rain than we did a decade ago.

The snow, sure, but it comes packaged with the heat. If you look at an analysis of temperatures over time there is a very definite upward trend.
Speedy, don't go and call it a myth without even listening to the facts. It may be many things but it is no myth that Earth is heating up. The only question is what we can do about it, if anything.

On a related note: the UN had to make it illegal to use technology to blot out the sun, because that's exactly what China was planning to do about this mess.

um, why hasnt anyone mentioned that the change in temperature is just part of a cycle yet? (not that I am saying this is the case, just that some people have talked about it, and I was surprised no one mentioned it yet)

I'm hoping that it's because it is a consideration so obvious it did not need discussed, although I can't say for sure...

Hmm, that's an interesting read. The question is, is it worth it?
