Suggestions: Maybe a sight sensor? Maybe develop internal energy producers (mitochondria)? Develop chloroplast hand-in-hand with the mitochondria for a plant option?
EDIT: I also vote for pics.

In case you are getting antsy about multicellularity, I'll tell you that there's 4 steps. step four is multicellularity itself, so you're really just one step away!
Winners: Attraction between cells Move SE Reproduce
Stats: single-celled creature. Active digestion (It can eat medium-sized particles that float near its mouth). Able to move quickly, and maneuvers well. Aware of light level and direction, favors light. Aware of different types of chemicals. aware of touch. Can photosynthesize primitively. Contains proteins in bilayer that attract each other so the bacterial appear in clumps. Can make poison. Population: 18 Average well-being: 6/10 Average energy: 3/5 Poison amt. 0/20
Environment: moderate light , light food scent
New Choices: A) Enhance cilia (precise control) B) Enhance Flagella again (MOAR FASTER!) C) Enhance Chemical Sensor (will be able to tell chemical direction) D) Enhance Contact sensor (tell where the touch came from) E) Develop vibration-sensitive organ F) Multicellularity step Three! (Develop specialization) G) Enhance photosynthesis (give you more energy faster in light) H) Enhance poison (Faster Production) I) Enhance digestive system (be able to digest more complex particles) J) Develop water-pumping system K) Develop light resistance (will inhibit photosynthesis) L) Enhance Poison (more toxic)
1) Do nothing 2) Reproduce 3) Eat (success not guaranteed) 4) Move (Define direction) 5) Produce poison 6) Secrete poison (define how much: I will take the average of the votes)

CFI3.
We don't really need poison, I've noticed. We don't have any natural enemies yet. Also our energy's getting a little low.
Izacque, did you think my suggestions were alright, or did you not include them because they were stupid (lol)?

I feel the need to get a bunch of strong poison. Pre-emptively preventing nasty monsters from chewing us up is a good thing.

Yonder, As a cell, you're not gonna heave "sight" as in colors and shapes. wait for multicellularity. You already have mitochondria (had it since the beginning). Chloroplasts are what photosynthesis is about. The enhancement of photosynthesis is adding pigments to the chloroplasts so that they can absorb more light. Now that the cells can specialize, not every option is going to effect every cell. right now, you have two types of cells. Border cells and inner cells. Border cells have taken over the options that would be inefficient for inner cells to have. Inner cells at the moment don't have anything special about them. Multicellularity will change that. For the sake of simplicity, I've already done things like having photosynthesis only occur in the border cells. As you're still a colony, a lot of the options are still global, but once you become a multi-cellular creature, almost everything will be specialized. Although the choices are now categorized, it's still the same 3-letter-1-number system. And Please, Please, PLEASE suggest new cell types. I'm not very creative lately . Also, I just dropped a hint about something important about to happen. Winners: Cell specialization Eat (success!) Stats: single-celled creature that lives in colonies. Active digestion (It can eat medium-sized particles that float near its mouth). Able to move quickly, and maneuvers well. Aware of light level and direction, favors light. Aware of different types of chemicals. aware of touch. Can photosynthesize primitively. specialized existence. Can make poison. Population: 18 (in 2 colonies) Average well-being: 8/10 Average energy: 5/5 Poison amt. 0/20 Environment: no light , light food scent, unknown scent New Choices: All cells A) Multicellularity!!! B) Enhance poison (Faster Production) C) Enhance Poison (more toxic) D) Develop water-pumping system E) Develop light resistance (will inhibit photosynthesis) Border Cells F) Enhance Chemical Sensor (will be able to tell chemical direction) G) Enhance Contact sensor (tell where the touch came from) H) Develop vibration-sensitive organ I) Enhance photosynthesis (give you more energy faster in light) J) Enhance cilia (precise control) K) Enhance Flagella again (MOAR FASTER!) Inner Cells New Cell Types L)Poison cells (make poison faster and e able to hold more poison) 1) Do nothing 2) Reproduce 3) Eat (success not guaranteed) 4) Move (Define direction) 5) Produce poison (adds 1) 6) Secrete poison (define how much: I will take the average of the votes)

AFH2, this creature... Err... Colony of creatures could still use some vibration detection. As for the ideas, how about temperature detection? Or Fire and Ice cell types? Fire Cells can withstand extremely high temperatures, and Ice Cells can withstand extremely low temperatures.

Hey Memzak, we can't move towards light because we can't detect it. I have a feeling something is blocking the light. I think it might be a large multicellular creature (thus creating an unknown scent).

Oh, and izacque, I wasn't very creative with the options either. It's more that we already have all the available options in the list, so I don't believe we can insert anything else.

It could also be some strange new phenomenon such as weather (clouds are covering the sun thus no light, and rain is the unknown scent), or it could be night (No sun, no light), or something completely different (a phenomenon that is not on Earth even!).

Hopefully, the unknown scent and lack of light is not a bad thing. And if it is... Well, let's just hope it's not.
We should get more or enhance our sensory cells/organs soon, it'll make it easier to detect enemies and such.

Yep. Although we should try more often t get a triple upgrade.... (AKA everyone picking the same choice) Then we can grow bigger faster...
|
|
|
Post by ShiningSilver on Aug 14, 2010 15:53:52 GMT
Heh. Yeah, triple upgrade should be out next goal.
I wonder if we'll even get onto land, or maybe we should just stay underwater and (if we become sentient) create an underwater civilization. But that's probably unlikely...
