I mean, come on. You give some you lose some. My personal opinion he was misguided, but very charismatic and had a great personality.
Opinions?

Well, he could have been a great person, but what he used his abilities for was anything but good. If only he was a a good painter.

It is current believed by researchers that he may have had a form of extreme bodily dismorphic disorder. The idea states that he may have seen himself as a Jew (as those with Anorexia nervosa would see themselves fat), and possibly he could have seen extremely warped features common to Jews, that he wanted to rid the world of. That explains his thinking that Aryans (a very different race) were perfections. Of course, this could also tie to Mad Hatters' disease, another dismorphism disorder, cause by hydrargyria (mercury poisoning, maybe from mercury fillings), and that further could have warped the effects. Another theory is that the situation was the opposite, where he hallucinated extreme features upon seeing Jews, and feeling that something "ugly" like that shouldn't exist. Most psychologists do suggest he was probably afflicted with some mental illness however. In the end though, does it justify 6 million Jewish deaths, and 54 million others?

Would have... could have... was he... and he build the Autobahn and everyone had work at that time... Are you serious? He is responsible for the death of millions! Sure, he wasn't the only bad person, but he was the key person. You can call him brilliant or a genious or whatever, because he managed to get so many people behind him. But not calling him bad is kinda weired. And using charisma for a bad purpose is just... bad.

What about Stalin? He killed more. And he didn't do as good a job with everything else. Hitler killed many people, but he had people in jobs and with money. Stalin killed more people, and had people in jobs and in poverty. Hitler may be bad, but he isn't the worst.

What about the various pope(s) throughout the Crusades? They easily convinced a massive number of people which led to a huge amount of death and pain.

True, but we don't have any real numbers on those and it was so long ago there aren't really people alive today that are affected by it.

Could you pull of killing over 50 million people?
No you can not. He was really just conquering nations like the other empires did a long time ago.

I wasn't aware the US was imprisoning, torturing, and killing six million Jews in Vietnam. Or during WWII for that matter. Yes, there were Japanese-Americans in internment camps during WWII, which was wrong, but it wasn't a Hitler-scale thing, and to my knowledge we weren't slaughtering them.

Plenty, but we're no Hitler. You're saying he was doing what we were doing: We most certainly were not. Research is useful sometimes.

Yes, you did.
Vietnam was a good chunk of a generation ago. Besides, the antiwar movement was massive even here. It's no reason to say America was like Hitler, and certainly not to say they still are.
But the discussion isn't about that. Hitler is like Hitler. And yes, he was that bad of a person.

i think it is him that was bad, but there is also the apocalypse that scripted him into becoming this, or something. i think that everybody is really good, it is just the way things have became that turn everything down into people with greed, i think it can be destroyed in a new world, or in a very long time. i am very confused right now, sorry i cannot think of the right words

What I am trying to say was he was being human like we used to be. I mean we used to fight over land, so did he. People hated people with different religions, eg the romans, so did he. All he did was do thing bigger and creuler. He tortured, we used to torture for confession. See, he was just being humans, I am not saying he did the right thing but he did what he thought was right. He did bad things true but so did we. We killed whole races of people to extinction to, sure it was a couple of hundreds of years ago, but the world is billions of years old.

Yes, but this isn't about other people. This is about Hitler. It wasn't us killing those people, it was our ancestors.
