Ahhw how cute... You know, once I accidentally mixed two upload codes together and both the uploads appeared on the same screen. I don't believe you. For fun try this: 0030000000100*02102*01*03*06*05*01w00q00004000v00u01u0B*0200Du0F00Cv0E10E00Ku0J*0Hv0Lu0G*0Bv0Q00N10M*0Pu0O*0Su0X00I10V*0Y10b00au0R00e00Uu0fv0T*0W10dv0j*0cu0iu0Zv0m00g*0ku0o10lu0pu0v10u10xu0tu0z00h00**0s010*0n01200r*13*11*17*16*1901501Bv0qv1Du0wu0.*1801Cu1F014v1E10y01Ku1J*1Hv1Lu1G*1Av1Q01N11M*1Pu1O*1Su1X01I11V*1Y11b01au1R01e01Uu1fv1T*1W11dv1j*1cu1iu1Zv1m01g*1ku1o11lu1pu1v11u11xu1tu1z01h01**1s020*1n02201r*23*21*27*13p00y0010Bq2A11y024v1qv2Gu1wu1.*2802502Lv2H12E*2Kv2Nu2J*26*2S02Mu2I02Fu2V*2Pu2X*2Tv2Q02W12O*2au2Z02U12d02gu2R02i02cu2jv2b*2Y12hv2n*2e12pu2fv2q02k*2ou2mu2tu2y12s12.u2x12*02l032*2w033*1c*07104138*37w0A0mK4 After the next element try this one, right now it only crashes the game: 0030000000100*02102*01*03*06*05*01w00q00004000v00u01u0B*0200Du0F00Cv0E10E00Ku0J*0Hv0Lu0G*0Bv0Q00N10M*0Pu0O*0Su0X00I10V*0Y10b00au0R00e00Uu0fv0T*0W10dv0j*0cu0iu0Zv0m00g*0ku0o10lu0pu0v10u10xu0tu0z00h00**0s010*0n01200r*13*11*17*16*1901501Bv0qv1Du0wu0.*1801Cu1F014v1E10y01Ku1J*1Hv1Lu1G*1Av1Q01N11M*1Pu1O*1Su1X01I11V*1Y11b01au1R01e01Uu1fv1T*1W11dv1j*1cu1iu1Zv1m01g*1ku1o11lu1pu1v11u11xu1tu1z01h01**1s020*1n02201r*23*21*27*13p00y00i0Bq2A11y024v1qv2Gu1wu1.*2802502Lv2H12E*2Kv2Nu2J*26*2S02Mu2I02Fu2V*2Pu2X*2Tv2Q02W12O*2au2Z02U12d02gu2R02i02cu2jv2b*2Y12hv2n*2e12pu2fv2q02k*2ou2mu2tu2y12s12.u2x12*02l032*2w033*1c*07104138*37w0A0eK1 There are no hidden elements in PG.

To disabled we are just noobs. XD I mean he knows how to crack SR save codes, so I guess it would only be logical that he knows how to crack PG upload codes...
If he says there are no hidden/secret elements... There are none. :C Oh well, might as well try decoding what we can for other purposes...
Hehe, block...

droctagonapus: Were all of yours in the top left? Beat's me otherwise... disabled: "K" was the other route I was thinking about, ran out of patience too soon it seems I'm trying to do cross comparisons with fireworks right now. Found this correlation linking the second element in fireworks and the element type. all the others are along the same lines. I'm going to try with screwing around with the player/f-work attributes, might be able to do something novel there. Please surround codes with

tags to prevent stretching the forum.

To disabled we are just noobs. XD I mean he knows how to crack SR save codes, so I guess it would only be logical that he knows how to crack PG upload codes... I'm seriously astonished how far you already got, but you will never be able to create your own codes just by looking at the ones you get from PG. And I have about no understanding how the PG save system works. Not much more then you found here. You never know... I didn't really look that deep into it. I tried a few potential elements and none of them worked. What might be possible is creating new fireworks 1) or balls or similar, I didn't test that. Did you notice the difference to a normal block? disabled: "K" was the other route I was thinking about, ran out of patience too soon it seems "K"? I think you have a very wrong idea about what that the "K" means (if I understand what you mean with "K"). *edit2* If forgot the edit tag: *edit* 1) Have a look at this:

uh, how did you know to change the mk4 to eK1 ?
did you just try random codes and find one that crashed pg?
O.o what if we use a packet sniffer to see what packets are sent when you upload something, find that it uploads a get/set code, and then upload that code you just uploaded.

I found it in my first post in the thread. 1,2,3 digits control BG. 4 controls ? 5 controls ? 6 controls SIDE 7 controls ? 8 controls ? 9 controls ? 10 controls ? 11 controls ? 12 controls ? HYPOTHESIS: Each group of three digits controls a different thingy. First set is BG, second is SIDE, third is ?, fourth is ?. Are there any other toggles? Bah. I made a mistake. You need to know how to count before being able to do these things. 1,2,3 digits control BG. 4 controls ? (SPEED?) 5 controls ? (SPEED?) 6 controls SPEED 7 controls SIDE 8 controls ? (SIDE?) 9 controls ? (SIDE?) 10 controls ? 11 controls ? 12 controls ?

Wait a minute... Rembember the update thread? Droctaganatopus or something like that posted a code with a Mercury and a Bird Ball. Maybe, if we inspect that code, we could be able to get the whole Ball set back. Of course, they will dissapear after Start is presses, but... Let's try it.

I think that the fourth set of three is GRID. *facepalm* I'll get the "full" beginning here in a moment.
EDIT: No outer block, Menu-str, pen-2, BG-line, dot-s, speed-1, side off Grid 0 0030000000000*02002*01*03*06*05*0800400A*0700B*09*0C*0F*0E*0H00D00J*0G00K*0I*0L*0O*0N*0Q00M00S*0P00T*0R*0U*0X*0W*0Z00V00b*0Y00c*0a*0d*0g*0f*0i00e00k*0h00l*0j*0m*0p*0o*0r00n00t*0q00u*0s*0v*0y*0x*0.00w010*0z011*0**12*15*14*17013019*1601A*18*1B*1E*1D*1G01C01I*1F01J*1H*1K*1N*1M*0js00vfB4

And I don't have any more patience. Sorry.
EDIT: Well that invalidates my theory. So far, 1 controls ? 2 controls ? 3 controls BG. 4 controls ? 5 controls GRID 6 controls SPEED 7 controls SIDE 8 controls ? 9 controls ? 10 controls ? 11 controls ? 12 controls ?
EDIT: There is some kind of error checking. Just changing those digits causes errors. Maybe the end is also important...
EDIT: From end, 1 controls ? 2 controls ? 3 controls GRID (f,k,p) 4 controls ? 5 controls ? 6 controls ? 7 controls ? 8 controls ? 9 controls ? STAR
So the whole thing is ? ? BG. ? GRID SPEED SIDE ? ? ? ? ? STAR (Middle) STAR ? ? ? ? ? ? GRID (f, k, p, ...) ? ?
EDIT: Spoilers added to shorten post.
EDIT: Disabled's "for fun" one is a sideways only block. Down/up, it goes through, left/right, it doesn't. I wonder what Disabled meant when he said that there are no hidden elements. Perhaps they don't work until the update?

^Yeah, seems to me like the 3rd digit from the end is error check or something, maybe there's some algorithm, but it also changes with each pixel of powder I add, so it is weird...

And I get a sense of deja vu.
*facepalms*
I completely forgot that in my first post in this thread, I mentioned that that third from the end was inconsistent.
Well, now I know.
I don't think this errorchecking is complicated, however...
EDIT: *groans*
We need a standard "empty" game to start with. Otherwise, our information will be based on different standards. I.e. some people might use BG-line, others, BG-non. And that could have a significant effect on the code.
Of course, it seems pretty modular.
EDIT: Perhaps the whole last portion (last star to end) is for error checking?
I haven't found a pattern yet.

Bah. I made a mistake. You need to know how to count before being able to do these things. How do you count? When I count programming related stuff I start from 0. Then I get: 0: ? 1: ? I think those two are always zero 2: BG 3: max Dots 4: grid 5: speed 6: side And the "for fun" thing is a 1 pixel block. Its not meant to be, so it acts funny. Hidden elements... well perhaps there are. I identified now almost all elements (well endy123 did most of them). I couldn't make out 3 elements (because they crash the game how I do it), but they work as balls, so I recreated all the balls:

Try the unknown ones and try to find out what element they were. (I think its an already known one and I just didn't get them). (Make sure to Stop time on load.) ^Yeah, seems to me like the 3rd digit from the end is error check or something, maybe there's some algorithm, but it also changes with each pixel of powder I add, so it is weird... Thats right, the last 3 characters are a checksum to make sure the upload is valid.

As for the counting, there is so much confusion that I decided to just list it. At first, I thought that the first two characters of the code were part of BG. I recently realized that there are already 62 possibilities in one character. Thanks for the beginning info. That leaves 5 more possible options in the beginning. Are they already in, or waiting to be programmed? I can't think of any options we missed...

Nice, Because the upload code says it's a one pixel block, it is. It's displayed as the smallest block you can make, but the actual block object is smaller.

So now we can make hidden wires(inside 1 dot blocks), XD

I'm in. Once we get a comprehensive understanding on how to work with elements, I'll write a program to put stuff on the canvas. What else can I do?

If you right click fire and left click nitro and you blast the inside of the block with it, it shoots elements up.
The longer you do it, the farther it shoots up.
I think it has something to do with air pressure being trapped inside the block...

so how to get past the checksum... :{

XD Maybe we could someone make a program to be able to place elements in one dot quantities, elements such as block for super small wires!

The first unknown is wheel, and the second is the same color of box, player/fighter head (maybe non-elemental ball, like box)

I see a ton of progress has been made. Maybe we are ready for a basic upload program?
Oh, and can these things (Metal fireworks and such) be uploaded? If so, twould be awesome.

The first unknown is wheel, and the second is the same color of box, player/fighter head (maybe non-elemental ball, like box) Ahh right, makes sense and is actually correct. But well, here is the point where I will probably stop posting relevant informations for two reasons. 1) The rest of the upload system looks quite complex to me. Even if it looks simple on the first look, it didn't make that much sense to me further on. 2) I don't want you to be able to create broken things. I don't want crashing uploads on PG. I don't want uploads with block particles where people wonder how you did it. I don't want to spread weired hacked files. I posted the elemental balls, because you were able to create them yourself for a short time, so you might as well just have saved them in time. Well I created the 1 pixel block... because I think it doesn't really hurt. You can't clone it and as soon as you create another block, that block will be turned into a normal 3x3 block. So no harm done IMO. If you have some ideas of what I should try out to find new things or interesting stuff, I might as well try them and might as well post them. But don't hold your breath. If you have a convincing reason to go on here and get me convinced, I might change my opinion. I did this for fun, because I enjoy reverse engineering stuff. I don't want anyone get an unfair advantage over the rest of the PG uploaders.

what? ok, yeah, I wasn't saying that the crashing upload was something I wanted to do, I was just noting that it would be weird.
how is this an unfair advantage? I can see another reason not to upload these (3 player fiasco), but I don't understand that reason.
(I just realized that you are editing the pg memory and changing the array directly. what program are you using to edit the memory?)

Yeah well I'm sorry if I got anyones hopes up here. But still, if you have a convincing idea...
And not being an unfair advantage? Well you tell me how using 1 pixel Blocks and other probably unused stuff and an automatic picture to Upload generator that only takes half a second is not an unfair advantage? With 3 player fiasco you ask what happens if you create 3 of them? I think the game just crashes. (Did I write anything about a 3 player fiasco?)

Post by Qwerty on Oct 31, 2010 23:02:46 GMT
Hmm, but would it be an unfair advantage if we distributed it to everyone?
The 3-player fiasco was awhile ago. Someone made a code that had three players in it before P2 even came out. Ha55ii fixed the glitch later. Less of a fiasco, more of a neat little trick.
