I know we got in the habit of not doing it, but now that Listo is gone there is nothing stopping anyone from doing it, not that it would have any use. I know some people have done it already, this is more of a people-figuring-it-out thread.

EDIT: I will have all the information I've found in this spoiler right here. ? 0? ? 0? BG DOT GRID SPEED SIDE ? ? ? ? ? STAR (Middle) STAR ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Error checking? ? Error checking? ? Error checking?
(Original post below)
I think that the first three digits are the kind of background. BG-non, BG-air, BG-line, ... BG-TG, BG-siluet, etc. Of course, that much you can find in the wiki. I've noticed that the more dots you add, the bigger the save code. I wonder what the save code would look for a blank screen... 0030000000000*02002*01*03*06*05*0800400A*0700B*09*0C*0F*0E*0H00D00J*0G00K*0I*0L*0O*0N*0Q00M00S*0P00T*0R*0U*0X*0W*0Z00V00b*0Y00c*0a*0d*0g*0f*0i00e00k*0h00l*0j*0m*0p*0o*0r00n00t*0q00u*0s*0v*0y*0x*0.00w010*0z011*0**12*15*14*17013019*1601A*18*1B*1E*1D*1G01C01I*1F01J*1H*1K*1N*1M*0js00vfB4 Lots of 0's, stars, and cryptic letters. 0010000000000*02002*01*03*06*05*0800400A*0700B*09*0C*0F*0E*0H00D00J*0G00K*0I*0L*0O*0N*0Q00M00S*0P00T*0R*0U*0X*0W*0Z00V00b*0Y00c*0a*0d*0g*0f*0i00e00k*0h00l*0j*0m*0p*0o*0r00n00t*0q00u*0s*0v*0y*0x*0.00w010*0z011*0**12*15*14*17013019*1601A*18*1B*1E*1D*1G01C01I*1F01J*1H*1K*1N*1M*0js00vpA4 for BG-non. Nice to know some things stay the same. 0010001000000*02002*01*03*06*05*0800400A*0700B*09*0C*0F*0E*0H00D00J*0G00K*0I*0L*0O*0N*0Q00M00S*0P00T*0R*0U*0X*0W*0Z00V00b*0Y00c*0a*0d*0g*0f*0i00e00k*0h00l*0j*0m*0p*0o*0r00n00t*0q00u*0s*0v*0y*0x*0.00w010*0z011*0**12*15*14*17013019*1601A*18*1B*1E*1D*1G01C01I*1F01J*1H*1K*1N*1M*0js00vgB4 Side-Loop and BG-non. One of the 0's (the 7th digit) turned into a 1. Perhaps it toggles Side? I don't like the A4/B4 at the end. It isn't consistent.

Wouldn't it be possible to "write" an Upload?
|
|
|
Post by ~Memzak~ on Oct 19, 2010 10:49:50 GMT
Yes, but it would be very hard to just write it. What would be easier would be to write a program to write an upload...
Owait, we have PG for that.
Although being able to decipher codes would be nice too...

You know, once I accidentally mixed two upload codes together and both the uploads appeared on the same screen. Maybe each part is a set of coordinates or something?

|
|
Post by ~Memzak~ on Oct 19, 2010 19:55:56 GMT
There is a section of it where there are just coordinates. That and what element is at which coordinate.
Perhaps we could find not-yet-perfected elements but code manipulating.

Post by Qwerty on Oct 20, 2010 5:25:05 GMT
It would be awesome to be able to mix uploads together, move stuff around in uploads en masse, stuff like that.

Post by ~Memzak~ on Oct 20, 2010 11:07:15 GMT
Heh... yea... But I'm more interested in finding unimpletemented elements that are just there and have half (or none or all) of their reactions coded and being able to use it...

We should most likely check the .classes to speed this up a bit.
In the meantime:
Blank screen, Side off, BG-Line:
Same, with Side-loop:
Now for "Spot the difference".

I found it in my first post in the thread.
1,2,3 digits control BG. 4 controls ? 5 controls ? 6 controls SIDE 7 controls ? 8 controls ? 9 controls ? 10 controls ? 11 controls ? 12 controls ?
HYPOTHESIS: Each group of three digits controls a different thingy. First set is BG, second is SIDE, third is ?, fourth is ?.
Are there any other toggles?

Not that I can think of. Maybe we can flip stuff randomly, try some different BGs, see how that goes? Maybe it's coded in such a way that 456 and 789 and 10-11-12 all control one thing each.

also, it appears that every dot added increases the save code length by 3(not ads 3 to the end, but makes it 3 longer, with a significant part staying the same
(only tested with having nothing, haivng 1 powder at the top, and having antohter powder right to the right of that)

Only three? I would have thought it was more.
How about non-elements? Block, players?

|
Post by droctagonapus on Oct 22, 2010 23:29:39 GMT
I did not try those. I think changing dots on a "blank canvas" might be easiest to start with, and if we figure that out the rest may become easier. however, that might not be true.
also, what about elemental balls?

Speed is affected by two characters: The 6th character and the 3rd from last character: Speed x1 = (6th char == '0')&(3rd from last char == 'g') Speed x2 = (6th char == '1')&(3rd from last char == 'm') Speed x4 = (6th char == '2')&(3rd from last char == 'c') Speed x8 = (6th char == '3')&(3rd from last char == 'i') If the char that is 3rd from last does not match the 6th char in terms of representing the same speed, you get an error(Example: having the 6th char '1' and 3rd from last char 'i' will produce an error) I don't know why it is those letters, but I have found it by comparing the 4 speeds codes at those settings: blank, BG-LINE, DOT S, SIDE OFF, GRID 0. The codes: speed = x1

I wanna help If you decompile PG and follow references, you can clearly see where it is saved... What it means? I dunno, it's obfuscated on the bytecode level, meaning it won't compile again.

for zero blocks with element in the top left corner interesting to see fan and fireworks have extra code. Presumably for the fan's direction and the second element for fireworks. yes, I did something similar last night. (I was going to post it, but ninja'd) and all the ones other than fan and fireworks differ only by 4 charecters. 0030700000?00000*03003*02*04*07*06*0900500B*0800C*0A*0D*0G*0F*0I00E00K*0H00L*0J*0M*0P*0O*0R00N00T*0Q00U*0S*0V*0Y*0X*0a00W00c*0Z00d*0b*0e*0h*0g*0j00f00l*0i00m*0k*0n*0q*0p*0s00o00u*0r00v*0t*0w*0z*0y*0*00x011*0.012*10*13*16*15*1801401A*1701B*19*1C*1F*1E*1H01D01J*1G01K*1I*1L*1O*1N*0kr00v??? where the question marks represent the things that are different for the different element. for a full chart, including some spots where single charecter spots aren't consecutive, so I assume they are after some element or object, see attachment or pastebin.com/tr6NPcJY

If only we could just decompile and look at how the code does it...

meh. its obsifucated right?
anyway, if anyone can see a pattern in those 3 letters in the order of lowercase uppercase number that corresponds with the 23456...ABC...abc thing. that would be very useful.
also the code changes significantly if you move the powder over a pixel so yeah...(same length though)

Awesome, so all we need to do is now someone write a code to create a PG savecode and then try and load it up into PG to see if it works.
Then we can try all the element combinations possible and see if there might be a glitched/secret/unfinished new element...
That's what I'm excited for.

And then perhaps we'd be able to find out how balls are stored and how to assign elements to them and soon we'll have our bird, magma and torch balls all ready for action. (of course they'll probably all disappear for one frame anyways) But I have a feeling this might be the place of groundbreaking discovery for secret PG elements that haven't been added yet and then we can speculate what their names are going to be...

I wish I could just add a java debugger...

I went through the combinations for what I think will be the next code on the list with no luck.
still might be one out there though, all kinds of possibilities.
believe it will be in the form of:
Next 0030000000i00000*03003*02*04*07*06*0900500B*0800C*0A*0D*0G*0F*0I00E00K*0H00L*0J*0M*0P*0O*0R00N00T*0Q00U*0S*0V*0Y*0X*0a00W00c*0Z00d*0b*0e*0h*0g*0j00f00l*0i00m*0k*0n*0q*0p*0s00o00u*0r00v*0t*0w*0z*0y*0*00x011*0.012*10*13*16*15*1801401A*1701B*19*1C*1F*1E*1H01D01J*1G01K*1I*1L*1O*1N*0kr00v?L2
the question mark being the unknown.

wait, how did you get the L in "?L2" ?
what I have as the last 3 are aL2 f (mercury) 1L2 g (spark) gM2 h (fuse)
LLML ? why would it change to M and then back to L?
so far I'm pretty sure that if the dingle char is i then the 3 chars are not a?2 however that is just for a... this really should be automated but I don't know any programming language suitable for the task...
please say why you think the second one is L.
I will try all the ones of that form, even though you already did.
