OK, we all know that we're far superior that than the Powder Toy, but it has it's advantages on PG, such as more elements. What are your opinions on their standings?

Why compare when you can play both?

Because I want a new badge.
And anyway, I want to see what people's opinions are when it comes down to them because both games have their strengths and weaknesses.

I'm not wasting my time here; we have an obviously biased group here.
Although the nuclear reactions, the electricity, and the downloadability are all quite nice... The playing field could be a bit bigger... Not to mention it's open-source. Just listing facts. Except the playing field size, of course.

And another thing that seems to have PG in its favor are the players, stickmen on PT. the stickmen are ver hard to control and have very erratic behaviors, while players can be controlled much easier. More to come, gtg to bed.

I shall play devil's advocate here, I suppose.

The way I'm seeing this is that you can have two sides to choose from (with exception to Clock) - Powder Game, or Power Toy, which really just comes down to "which one entertains you the most, despite whatever flaws, bugs, or spaces for improvement it may have." Two sides, no real "facts" to discuss, and a topic which has no flexible boundaries to observe, does not sound like much of a debate to me. I mean, it's as if we'd just be giving the community the "butter on top or bottom side of bread/toast" debate, and expecting results from them. Either a "war" based only on preference and not on any factual data will ensue, or the person posting the topic will just be told "stfU n00b!!1" and the topic dropped from there. So I'm sorry, but this does not seem grounds for a debate at all.

Well, this seems to be turning into a debate about whether this is a debatable topic...

Yes, well, a lot of them turn out that way in the end...to which I say:
TOUCHE, SIR!

Or we could compare features instead of meaningless discussion about something that isn't Powder Game OR Powder Toy. For instance, the players and the open-source-ness. How are we on elements; anything drastically different there?

I know for one thing that for PT spark is electricity, if you press it over metal then there is a current. They have no laser. And they have no boxes, fighters, and balls. Or bubble, or soapy. I know this from my friend who plays it. But they have photons, neutrons, and uranium, and plutonium. And liquid nitrogen and oxygen. And distilled water. One thing is its obscurity, its sorta hard to comprehend it all. And the BGs only look cool. There is no practical BG for simply viewing everything neatly. D: THEY HAVE UPLOAD COMMENTS!

Upload comments are a plus. We must also decide whether downloadability is a plus: PT can be played offline, but PG is easier to play.

It's quite hard to choose, but yeah powder toy has better and (maybe) cooler elements and powder game is good but I think powder toy is cooler.

How about non-elements? PT has no wheels, but it does seem to have a pretty awesome "electricity" system with delays and everything.

Yeah, PT has a far superior array of elements and electrical systems, along with better graphics, but PG just works. PT is filled with glitches, especially with the stickman. It also fails with feature like virus, which it can't seem to reproduce, and fireworks, bomb, and vine, which it took them until a few months ago to add. PG's feature rarely glitch, and seem to work almost too well. Though we could use a couple upgrades....

PG and PT are VERY close in judgement, but I have to say PG. In PT, you can open the best upload you've ever seen and upload it yourself and take ALL of the credit. That just ruins the game for me, and I never upload on it even though I have some great stuff. I just don't want it to get stolen. It's a lot harder to copy stuff on PG because you have to either copy it pixel for pixel or somehow get the code. I go for PG even though both are amazing.

Well, I think that the one thing PT has that PG could actually use is WiFi. I don't know exactly how you'd make it work on PG, but it'd be a valuable addition...

TPT has many useful things, mainly their vast electronics system, and now their Newtonian Gravity, ambient heat, and myriad of tools and elements that PG users only dream about. But they also have their box-headed dictators that are opposed to any new idea unless they themselves like it, regardless of the community input.

Actually, PG could use a Moderating system. Noobs get banned, vote-scammers get banned, etc. That would really clear up PG... The only problem is deciding who to make a Mod... It couldn't be done by votes, and even good uploaders can be complete idiots...

They would probably just be ha55ii and otas. Or if we ever become official, maybe the mods/admins here.

How are they decided on Powder Toy?

For "personal reasons." IE personal preferences, nepotism, and crap like that. Experience, publicity skills, and development skills rarely factor into it.

It is, trust me. These mods are corrupt, power-crazed, banhammer happy morons. And yet the community adores them.

could kind of do wi-fi via objects w/Create, balls would probably be easiest.
have 49 of them in separate area.
When the 50th ball is destroyed then Create will relay a "ball destroyed" signal when it creates a new one.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. But you can't transport any elements like that. The closest I've seen to WiFi is those remote bomb uploads you get on PG, which use the dot limit to start/stop clone.

This is creapy as I just downloaded this like two days ago. (I have been managing my fourm so I havent cheaked back in a while) The problems stated are mostly true with the bugs and stuff and don't forget the compileing, registering, internet (unless you have verson 2 or 1) the computer in my room doesn't have internet (overly-paranoid parents) So everything on it is from when it was bought, had internet, or moved from the main computer down-stairs by a USB drive and I have really wated to save some of the stuff I made on this. One time I just finished a masive setup of walls, metal, and other asourted stuff one time and I acsidentaly added some kind of "life" By the ime I managed to erase it all Half of my work was gone. Howevere it is a positive step in my ever growing search for a ofline Powder game replacement. PS There is a downlodable version it is "mobil software" (the kind you put on a USB to take with you not iPod, etc) and is pre-compiled and v46.7? (something like that)
