I think he was referring to mine. I just consider a criminal anybody who has done some kind of criminal act to the point where it hurt somebody. I don't count things like double posting, though.

One more thing; Is it illegal to transfer badges from one account to another? The account 'Likep15' was destroyed while my computer was getting fixed the other day.

How could it have been destroyed? The account itself isn't stored locally on your computer: you just have to remember a username and password, and then ProBoards should let you access your account.
Be it as it may, no: you can transfer badges and Dan-Balls and karma and post count from one account to another in the event that something happens to your account...

Shouldn't it be against the rules to false report?

Post by Qwerty on Sept 17, 2011 7:50:37 GMT
It hasn't really been a problem. If it becomes one, sure, but we trust our users not to do that, plus one person's false report is another's serious issue.

Welcome to the forum, Jackamole. I am quite curious, though, after seeing Nmagane's point in the form of ironic mockery - why did you double post after reading rules that told you explicitly not to double post?
Looking elsewhere, it seems you might not know how to edit your posts. Instead of double posting, you can edit your posts as a registered member by going to the top right corner of your post, clicking the "edit" button, and then modifying the post as desired...

why is flagbanning against the rules? everybody can easily unflag themselves. (unless they're dumb)

Not everyone can, especially new members. Knowing how to bypass banning systems shouldn't be a requirement on any chat. Besides, it's intended as a trolling mechanism.

Agreed. Flag banning can be pesky an annoying for the experienced user, but for a new user it's a nightmare.

Technically we are a PG-13 forum, although we unofficially accept people younger. However, if schools teach people about sexual harassment in fifth grade, I'm pretty sure we can allow it here. They do. also, about the other websites thing, what if it is related to the topic?

Yeah, other websites can be linked or whatever. That rule mostly exists to prevent advertising.

I take issue with rule 7 in the respect section (Use of Social Groups as an Insult or derogatory term). I believe that rules should reflect what we, the community want (The exception is rules we have that comply with ProBoards TOS). I do not believe that the community wants this rule in its present form. I would like to see this rule discussed and modified by the community.

Every other day there's an argument over shit like Canada vs. America. The rule should either be modified or enforced better.

I don't take issue, and nor (I believe) does Veers. Fox is a maybe. You may not be offended by it, but there ARE people that are highly offended by such language. You have no idea of knowing just how offended they can be. The forum is for everyone, not just a majority of, frankly, straight WASPs.

Connected with other human beings and being offensive to them? Grow up and learn some sensibilities, please. There are so many other ways to be profane instead of saying something is "gay" or "white" or "retarded" or what have you. Use them instead of the words that represent real groups of people...

regardless of whether or not people can get offended, does the community want rules with no purpose than to keep people from getting offended? Furthermore, I find it impossible to follow rule 7 to the letter on the DBF chat. it would result in ridiculous amounts of banning that, instead of correcting the issue, would cause some of the most active members to be so resentful, that they would do what they could to make chat even worse. I am not necessarily proposing we remove rule 7, but we need to have a version of it that we can actually enforce.

Don't use derogatory terms in an insulting fashion. Is it seriously that hard to do? If a member finds that very simple rule impossible to follow, frankly they should find another forum that doesn't care. I think 4chan would be perfectly accepting.

Then what's acceptable? Is Sparkpowder* a Faggot? Is he Gay? Is he Retarded? Is he Stupid? Is he Annoying? Is he Dislikable? Is he Imperfect? Those are all derogatory terms.
*it's just an example!

So you're labeling a good sized amount of users on the forum fit for 4chan, is that what you're getting at.
