This will be the place that I give ideas to Memzak and the others. I will list them and probably describe only some of them... Ideas are very massive. Just try to imagine. 1. Seeds: Something to do with dropping seeds over an area, artificial seeds that may be created specifically for war... An idea Memzak proposed was to have seeds that released gases able to dull the minds of the people affected by the gas. 2. Artificial Weather: The rain would be used to hide the sky, and cover up the sunlight to allow something to enter with less visibility. This might also be something of use to us if there were an artificial hailstorm to hide the sounds of the seeds... 3. Caltrops that expand at the click of a button, or a floor that is actually a platform placed in an area to have expanding spikes protrude from the floor at the click of a button. 4. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartridge_Trap Don't ask... Just read it. 5. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punji_stick Another one... 6. And another one... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trou_de_loup7. Not really a tactic or anything, just a specific idea... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%E1%BB%A7_Chi_tunnels

I do like the many uses for bamboo. It's light, effective, green and very easy to grow. I have just sent out an order to import some bamboo seeds and saplings. As for the artificial weather, I'm all for it. Especially when it can cover for our seeds. (which one use for it is above but with genetic modification we can create many different types of seeds. Such as ones that grow into massive trees in a matter of days after remote activation, destroying buildings near to it) All these technologies are good ideas, but I'm afraid we don't really have enough researchers to help manufacture these ideas. For the reasearchers we can spare, I say we manufature the seeds (with as many uses as possible) and the artificial weather. We should also put a side a couple scientists to work with the bamboo once we have enough.

What exactly was this? Meh, I'll check it when youtube becomes unblocked. The cold weather of the antarctic isn't really a bonus when using bamboo. We'll really need to come up with some plans to use the cold to our advantage. They probably already have many tactics to use the terrain to their advantage.

It's a Gay Bomb. No, really. It has chemicals that make an army feel irresistible sexual attraction to one another.

Yes, but this is irresistible. It would defeat the most disciplined of armies. Unless of course the army was made up entirely of gay people.
It would beat the US army almost instantly, what with DADT.

Gas masks. Then again, the Biopunk Legion can be bred to be unable to feel emotion; make them literally asexual.

But to do that you'd need to make them literally unable to produce that chemical anywhere in their body. (the one made to make you sexually attracted to another)
Oh and... Basic Weather Manipulation... COMPLETE! At least we have the basis for this technology. Now to get working on something in make staying at the settlement in Antarctica bearable. On another note, the gas producing seeds are complete. They don't grow, they are not very camouflaged and they are not remotely activated. They just release the gas.

Erm.. Let's just not use that, OK? I'll be fighting in the front lines, and... well.... just don't use it, OK? Just don't. And gas masks would be rather ineffective, what with having a huge hole in the middle of our heads and all.

We just have to drop it on the enemy camp, not ours. Then it won't affect us.

But it does have side effects that may affect us. I deem it too risky for our own troops. Any skin contact may also trigger a chain reaction. We don't want the normal ones to shoot up their own comrades.

Heh, so I guess we should abandon using the bomb in this war at all. Habitat Improvement Tech Research has been started and when the first stage is complete we'll be able to begin to make small portions of the base camp a bit warmer. It won't be powerful enough to combat the full antarctic cold.... yet...

We don't have to USE it to use it. Could you imagine the psychological effect if we drop just one of these in some far-off outpost and the Phoenix army sees what we can do? It would leave all of them wondering when we would drop one on them. For some people, something like that would be far worse than a normal bomb.

I don't know. I really don't like the idea of that bomb. It just doesn't seem right. Let's focus on the technology we're already working on.

Yea, which is exactly what my scientists are doing. Besides, imagine the implications of someone self detonating the bomb within our facilities. It would be devastating.

Memzak, isn't that true with ANY bomb? Really, it would be a lot worse if a nuke self-detonated.
We don't even have to develop the bomb, we just have to say we have it.

Well the fear of using a weapon against someone is sometimes a weapon in itself. We'll say we have it, but we won't actually develop any of it.

It seems that we must stop this talk about bombs for now, because I have recently gathered intel (don't ask) about the whereabouts of the base... It is at about...
It's under, at the thinnest point, at least 500 feet of ice. The actual base walls, which are thick and hardened, are of a classified structure and makeup. I can not reveal any more than that, unfortunately, due to the lack of my knowledge.
EDIT: We should modify each seed or tree so that there are devices that allow our troops to see the trees and seeds, to our advantage... Or, we can make ourselves new technology and have specialized oxygen masks that purify the gas, making it into oxygen once more (we are making very dangerous weapons; the gases could rise into the atmosphere).

Hmmm... How'd you find this out? Anyways, perhaps the use of antarctic seeds to open up a hole in the top of the fort could be used? If we can get them seeds to grow into strong enough trees it could be a good plan. As we have just finished the research for seeds that grow into trees. It's just a thought. Or perhaps we should start the building of many maneuverable drills.

So these trees... What kind are they? Are they bamboo trees? If so, then we might want to consider drills, drilling holes down a few hundred feet, and ... Surrounding the base, I guess... The only problem is, we don't even know where the base is.

Status update:
We've taken the West Outpost, we've gotten some info on their location (not much) and we are now under attack from the phoenix army at the west outpost.
As for the seeds and tech progress, please go to the Tech Progress Thread. The trees are not bamboo, but rather giant oaks that have been genetically modified to grow faster than bamboo. We've almost developed remotely activated versions of these seeds. (dropping them and then being able to set them to grow at a certain time)
That's the progress so far.
